Controlling our footprint across our regions
Eco-design of our ‘everyday Grand Cru’
- We minimise the environmental impact of our product packaging by:
> Reducing the weight of bottles and boxes
> Recycling glass endlessly
> Recycling cork
> Recycling cardboard
> Using labels made from recycled paper in France, whitened with chalk pigments
> Gradually removing the gilding from our labels
> Recycling label glassine by joining the RafCycle programme
- Most of our dry material suppliers have an environmentally-friendly label
- Membership of the Authentis Club in 2016 and implementation of the soil enrichment protocol using organic fertilisers
- Grass cover in every other row of vines
- Under feet grass cover tests using different varieties of clover
- Lean production model to avoid waste in-house and for our customers
- Accredited green building programme
- Total grass cover in the vineyard
- Removing capsules from our bottles
- Removing gilding from our labels
Local commitment and relationship with our stakeholders
- 80% of the cost of products sold were spent in France
- 50% of expenditure is under 100 km by volume
- 14% of expenditure is with foreign suppliers of which 13% represents the international agent's commission
- The average duration of relationships with our suppliers is over 60 months, some of them are among the company's original partners
- Survey of our strategic suppliers (dry and bulk materials) to inform them of our CSR approach
- Support for social actions, local sporting and cultural associations, and hospitality:
>Reception for the 20th anniversary of the local Nature Club and donation of skills for its organisation
>Hosting school groups (from nursery school to university) on the property
> Organisation of introductory workshops about the industry
> Donation of skills to the University of Montpellier Foundation for handling the MPU Herbarium
>Hosting of sporting events
Controlling use of resources and recycling waste
- 1000 m² of photovoltaic panels generate the equivalent of 90% of our electricity consumption
- Urine irrigation tests with Ecosec
- Controlling our irrigation using the ITK connected solution
- Leach fields for water from the winery to promote development of a unique wetland ecosystem on the estate
- The vineyard subscribes to an approach fostering sustainable and continuous improvement by being a test site for a confined sprayer using retrieval panels with the French Vine Institute, followed by the purchase of the tested machine
- Implementation of the CICOVI adjusted vineyard management programme: 0 CMR, reduction of plant protection products, preferred usage of organic products when the impact is lessened
- Techniques designed to reduce our water consumption: change of method and machine during harvesting and rationalisation of water usage in the vineyard, winery and during bottling
- Recovery and treatment of all effluents
